READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP Meet the Beatles MONO 1963 First Pressing Los Angeles 1 BMI

Vinyl--- VERY Strong VG+. There are only a few scant angel hair lines per side, which should qualify as an Excellent LP.  However, there are manufacturer’s defects on both sides from the factory that do not affect playback.  I don’t know if we have coined a word for this type of “Now you see it, now you don’t” defect.  Looking at the photos, you will see that if you hit the vinyl just right in the light, the defects appear.  And then just by tilting the LP a few degrees, they aren’t visible.  Both sides have these cloudy markings, otherwise, this would have easily been rated as Excellent.

Plates--- G8/ G8.  The Hollywood Star in the dead wax on both sides is the 1963-style machine-stamped 5-pointed bubble.

Cover--- Excellent.  All seams and spine are muscular-strong, NO SPLITS.  Not even almost.  The white border on the front is still blinding.  Light wear to the black slick.  Back cover has the slightest amount of fading.  And I mean slight.  Very light dirtwear as well.  Beautiful cover!

Labels--- NM/ NM.   1 BMI on the first track, the rest are ASCAP, making this copy a 1963 first pressing.  Both labels look 1963-brand new, full of gloss and NO SPINDLE MARKS!  That’s not dust in the label photos, it’s the reflection off of the high gloss.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original purple company Capitol sleeve is present, and in good condition.  Photos came out blue, but sleeve really is purple.  Some wear to the seams.  One seam has a center split about 4 inches.  West coast thumb tab.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

If this copy isn’t your keeper, it’s still an incredibly nice copy.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
