Paul McCartney - McCartney - Genuine 1970 1st UK pressing on the dark green Apple labels dating to on or before the initial release date of 17th April 1970.

This was Paul McCartney’s first solo album and arguably his finest. In some ways a controversial album which heralded the end of The Beatles. McCartney’s press release from the time was the first public announcement that the Fab Four were no longer together. The album includes classic tracks such as, Every Night, Teddy Boy and Maybe I’m Amazed. Side one has been played twice possibly three times. Side two appears to have been played only once.

An exceptional copy in stunning condition.

Disc

Visual: MINT-

Beautiful pristine vinyl which is completely unmarked. Under an unforgiving halogen desklight nothing much more is revealed, not far from an all out MINT grade. The heavy duty disc lies 100% flat on the turntable.

Labels: MINT-

A Superb set of factory fresh labels. Side one has a very tiny faint spindle mark. Side two has two very faint spindle trails.

Audio: MINT-

Superb clean undistorted analogue sound throughout. I noticed some light surface noise on the inner most track Man We Was Lonely but all music signals are completely unworn and undistorted. There are no loud pops or ticks and the record does not jump or stick.

Cover

EXC+ to MINT-

Original 1970 gatefold sleeve. Very difficult to fault. Both front and back  panels are superb and free from any thumbnail creases. The only noticeable flaw is a laminate crease to the top right corner on the front panel. There is a small laminate ‘air bubble’ on the rear cover but this has clearly been done during manufacture and remains undisturbed. When photographing the cover it was clear that the gatefold had never been opened. A stunning example.
