They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. This is one of those rare LP’s that will appeal to both rare labels collectors, as well as audiophiles.

The Apple labels are so bright green that they appear yellow.  I have been trying for over 40 years to verify the entire run, but since the early 1980’s, I have only seen Revolver and Rubber Soul, and that’s IT.  Not to be confused with LA’s brighter green Apples.  This one is almost yellow!  (See compere photo of the normal LA label.)  If anyone out there has other titles, please reach out to me.

Regarding the sound quality, I don’t know whose lathes these are, but pay close attention to the Side 2 concentric ring.  It has an extra ring around it that glows in the tilted light.

The sound quality, when compared to any other Capitol or Apple pressings is exquisitely clear.  It’s not necessarily that the sound has a sharper high end, it’s that the bass is punchier, the vocals are right up at you, the guitars are crunchier and more detailed, but the mix is identical. 

The vinyl stock is also decidedly thinner and far more flexible.  It might be that because the vinyl stock retains its flexibility, it must also retain its moisture better.

If you’re an audiophile, you should keep an eye out for copies of Beatles albums with this glow ring.  The title that I see the most frequently is the regularly green Apple All Rights “Hey Jude,” although it’s not an easy find either.  But it may be a good place to start if you don’t win this LP.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Both sides shine like absolutely brand new.  But Side 1 has two very light manufacturer’s lines, and Side 2 has one light scratch.  All are non-feelable.

Plates--- H27/G24.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- EX.  SO close to a NM cover.  Looks like you just pulled the shrinkwrap off.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Just a shy whisper of a spindle mark or two per side.  Some might get away with grading these labels NM.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+.  Generic white inner sleeve with die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Moderately yellowed.  Two seams have tiny splits less than a quarter inch long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

This is the only copy I’ve ever seen in my life.  And I’ve been at this since 1975.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
