CONDITION
Disc
Visual: Disc 1: EXCELLENT+ Disc 2: nr MINT
Neither records have been played that much in the past 45 years. Disc 1 appears mint in strong daylight. Under a halogen desklight there are some faint surface marks visible but nothing feelable. Disc 2 appears mint in strong daylight and even under a halogen desklight no further marks are revealed other than the faintest of whispy sleeve removal marks. Both heavy duty discs lie 100% flat on the turntable. A superb looking set of discs
Audio: EXCELLENT+
Both discs play through without any major faults or defects. There is some surface noise evident on some of the quieter passages at high volume but overall there is very little lessening to the sound quality with little to no groovewear. The richness of the analogue sound shines through to make it a great listening experience. Neither record jumps or sticks.
Labels: EXCELLENT+
A clean set of dark green apple labels retaining much of their original freshness. Each label has a number of light spindle trails which become visible when viewed at an angle under certain light. Side 3 carries the rarer KJT tax code. All labels are free from any writing or any other marks.
Cover
EXCELLENT-
An original 1968 1st issue top opening numbered sleeve. This is one of the whitest covers I have seen in a long time with a beautiful high gloss laminate. With virtually no oxidization or discolouration to the cover at all, it has clearly been stored in a dry, damp free, smoke free environment for the last 45 years. Consequently it still retains a certain freshness. The sleeve would grade higher but for an 8mm rupture and some thumbnail creases along the top edge of the rear panel near the word stereo. The interior gatefold is pristine and grades excellent+/nr mint. All in all a great looking cover and so hard to find in this condition.
Inner-sleeves
EXCELLENT-
Original 1968 black inners not reproductions. Fully intact with no seam splits.
Poster
EXCELLENT
Great poster with no writing, tape marks or pin holes. Fully intact with no seam splits, just light handling creases. Positively a genuine 1968 Garrod & Lofthouse lipstick cover and not a later 70’s copy.
Photos + Spacer
Spacer – EXC+/nr MINT
Photos - – John – EXCELLENT , Paul – nr MINT George - nr MINT, Ringo – EXCELLENT- A very clean set with no writing or marks on the back
Positively 1968 photos on thicker card and with the deeper contrast, not later reproductions
