CONDITION
Disc
Visual:
Disc 1: MINT-
One of the finest looking discs I have seen in a Beatles White album. Appears beautiful and unmarked in strong daylight and even under extreme bright halogen lighting no marks are revealed other than the faintest of whispy sleeve removal marks. A real stunner and exceptionally rare to find disc 1 in this condition.
Disc 2: EXC+ to MINT-
Once again an exceptionally fresh looking disc. Side 3 appears MINT in strong daylight, under a halogen desklight nothing much is revealed other than faint whispy sleeve removal marks and an ultra faint near invisible hairline which could easily go undetected even under close examination with halogen light, side 3 confidently grades at nr MINT. Side 4 has one or two of ultra faint surface marks visible when the record is angled in strong daylight but none are remotely feelable or particularly visible; side 4 grades at exc+. Both heavy duty discs lay 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXC+ to MINT-
A fresh set all round of dark green Apple labels with very little evidence of use. Very bright and clean with no writing or personalization to any label. Side 2 carries the KT tax code. All labels carry the ‘Sold in UK..’ label text.
Audio: MINT-
A superb sounding disc with very little to fault. Beautiful and rich analogue sound with absolutely no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals and one of the best copies I’ve heard. Easily damaged tracks such as Julia, Blackbird and While My Guitar Gently Weeps play superbly. The bass sound on Birthday is outstanding and clear and the intro into Dear Prudence is quiet. There is some occasional light surface noise in places but as with Abbey Road I’ve not heard a copy of the White album which plays completely silently from start to finish even in mint condition. The record does not jump or stick.
Cover
EXC+ to MINT-
An original 1968 1st issue top opening numbered sleeve (0363260) in outstanding condition. It has been stored in a dry smoke free environment and still retains it’s original ‘white’ or more accurately cream appearance, showing no signs of discolouration. There is a light laminate bend at the top of the sleeve but overall there is very little to fault and this sleeve is not that far from an all out MINT grade. The wide spine is uncrushed and in superb condition with virtually all of the spine laminate still present. Now incredibly hard to find 1st issue ‘top openers’ in this fresh and clean condition.
Inner-sleeves EXCELLENT+
Original 1968 black inners.
Photos EXCELLENT+
A superb set of original 1968 photos.
Poster EXCELLENT-
Original 1968 ‘lipstick’ poster.
