Quality vinyl for the discerning collector

1963 mono -1N withdrawn UK 1st pressing with ‘Parlophone’ rim labels, ‘Recording First Published’ and ‘JOBETE’ label credit.
This record is a genuine UK 1st pressing and is the very earliest in the production cycle of records pressed ahead of the Friday 22nd November 1963 release date.
Recording for With the Beatles was still taking place as late as 24th October 1963 and with the impending deadline only a month away an initial ‘dead wax’ impression was made from the original Abbey Road master tapes.
Mastered at high volume with an enhanced dynamic, this initial -1N matrix cut was removed from the production cycle early on and replaced by a succession of new and different sounding matrix masters before finally arriving at the most common -7N matrix.
These -1N matrix pressings are now extremely rare and highly collectable. This copy also has the ultra rare Jobete label credit which was changed almost immediately in pre-production to Dominion Belinda.
Happy bidding and good luck!
Matrix numbers: XEX 447-1N & XEX 448-1N (First matrix pressing)
Stamper codes: 1,0/TL & 1,0/GDG

CONDITION
Disc
Visual: Side one: EXCELLENT+ Side two: EXCELLENT
Superb looking vinyl which appears virtually mint in strong daylight. On closer inspection there is some faint handling marks but nothing which is feelable or effects play. Now incredibly tough to find Jobete copies in this condition. The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXCELLENT+
A great set of rare labels in excellent+ condition. The text is unworn. There are some light spindle trails visible to each label. Side two carries the ultra rare Jobete label credit, only found on these very early –1N matrix copies. There is no writing or personalization to any label. Side two also carries the mis-spelling of ‘Gotta’ on You Really Gotta Hold on Me.
Audio: MINT-
A stunning audiophile copy of this ultra rare pressing. All the dynamism and power comes through on this incredibly well preserved -1N matrix pressing. There is no wear or deterioration to any of the music signals. Most gaps are silent, even the easily damaged innermost track Please Mr Postman is undistorted and clear. There are no loud pops or ticks and the record does not jump or stick. Will not disappoint.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A well preserved example of this the very earliest 1st issue 1963 Garrod & Lofthouse cover with the very dark image of the Beatles and the miss-spelling of ‘Gotta’ on You Really Gotta Hold on Me. The front panel retains its original high gloss sheen. There is some laminate bending to the bottom right cover. The back cover is in excellent condition with only slight discolouration. The cover still retains its original opening edge. All flipbacks are strong and intact and there is no writing or personalistion to any part of the cover. The spine is uncrushed with the words With The Beatles clearly legible. Severely graded at excellent.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT+
Original clear 1963 Emitex inner
