Beatles fans! To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Fab Four’s invasion of the USA, look, oh look, what I have put up for auction. Two, yes 2 complete Beatles records boxed sets: Both LPs(33 1/3rpm) & Singles(45rpm) sets!! This is not a ’Dutch’ auction. Because these 2 record sets compliment each other so magnificently, I am auctioning them as ONE item. Virtually every studio recording the Beatles ever made.
‘The Beatles Collection’ (produced 12/78) is a complete set of the Beatles’ twelve British studio albums, plus one additional record, Rarities, of selected tracks, many of which had never been issued on any U.K. LP before. All albums are pressed on their original labels (EMI/Parlophone or Apple) with their original catalog numbers. All records are packaged in their original covers and with their original enclosures (Sgt. Pepper’s cut-out sheet and The Beatles four glossies and one poster.) The LPs are encased in a blue textured cardboard box with a fold-open top. The set’s title and facsimiles of the Beatles autographs are embossed on the front of the box in gold lettering. The set includes: Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt’s Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles(White album), Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, Let It Be and Rarities.
‘The Beatles Collection: The Beatles Singles 1962-1978’ ( produced 5/82) is a complete set of the Beatles’ twenty-five British singles plus a ‘Movie Medley’ single and sold by World Records, EMI’s mail order division. It was never commercially released. The records are pressed on the EMI/Parlophone label and are packaged in their original picture sleeves. The singles are encased in a blue, textured cardboard box, identical in style to the Beatles album set (see images). Also included is a list of all the singles in the set, their release dates, their recording dates and highest chart position. The singles set includes: love me do/ps I love you, please please me/ask me why, from me to you/thank you girl, she loves you/I’ll get you, I want to hold your hand/this boy, can’t buy me love/you can’t do that, a hard day’s night/things we said today, I feel fine/she’s a women, ticket to ride/yes it is, help!/I’m down, we can work it out/day tripper, paperback writer/rain, yellow submarine/Eleanor rigby, strawberry fields forever/penny lane, all you need is love/baby you’re a rich man, hello goodbye/I am the walrus, lady Madonna/the inner light, hey jude/revolution, get back/don’t let me down, ballad of john and yoko/old brown shoe, something/come together, let it be/you know my name, yesterday/I should have known better, back in the USSR/ twist and shout, sgt. Pepper’s lonely hearts club band;with a little help from my friends/a day in the life, movie medley/I’m happy just to dance with you.
I am the original owner. I have, on occasion, carefully removed contents just to look at the beautiful artwork on the sleeves. Please be aware that the boxes, covers and sleeves on both sets are in pristine condition. Vinyls on both sets are MINT. & have absolutely never been touched by a stylus!! The contents of these two awesome boxed sets have been produced and packaged the way they were meant to be and to this day remain as milestones in the history of recorded pop music.
