1962 UK 1st PRESSING RED LABEL 45
**SUPERB COPY**
This beautiful UK 1962 1st pressing is on the red & silver Parlophone label: 45-R 4949
The version of 'Love Me Do' on this pressing features Ringo on drums and is significantly different to the LP/CD version.
Both carry 'Ardmore & Beechwood' publishing credits but OMIT the 'Made in Gt. Britain' text.
The 'ZT' tax/price code is visible on the side 'Love Me Do' label.
'ZT' codes are stamped into each run-out.
Housed in an original coloured beech striped Parlophone company cover.
This disc comes complete with a MINT original generic 1960's shop paper bag.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17144-1N & 7XCE 17145-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/T & 1/H
Labels: Side 1: MINT Side 2: NEAR MINT
A vibrant, pristine set with just two light spindle trails on the 'P.S. I Love You' labe,l but none on 'Love Me Do'.
Visual: Side 1: EXCELLENT Side 2: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are incredibly clean and retain their 'as new' high-gloss surfaces.
In strong, direct daylight I found a 1cm 'smudge' type surface mark, a single stylus hairline and four faint fingernail lines on the 'A' side The 'B' side is totally pristine & unmarked.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines but no further marks or wear to either side.
Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS
This copy has clearly received just a few very careful plays and as expected, the sound quality is first class.
The sound quality on these first pressings is unmatched by any subsequent pressing and has a rich, deep bass undistorted & clear high frequencies.
Apart from a hint or normal light background on the run-ins, both sides play without any background noise, groovewear distortion, clicks, pops or any other signs of wear.
Cover: EXCELLENT
There is some natural age-toning and another Parlophone catalogue number written in the upper corner of the rear side, but no splits or tears.
