THE BEATLES - 'LOVE ME DO'/'P.S. I LOVE YOU'
1963 UK '3rd' PRESSING 45
This hard to find '3rd' variant dates from around mid-1963 and is on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 4949
The disc contains the same version of 'Love Me Do' as on the earlier red label copies, with Ringo on drums.
Both labels omit the '45' prefix to the catalogue number but retain 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rim texts.
An unusual 'KJ' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the 'P.S. I Love You label.
Housed in its original green & white Parlophone company cover.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17144-1N & 7XCE 17145-1N
Stamper codes: 1/RT & 1/RO
'MPZT' codes are also stamped in both run-outs.

Labels: EXCELLENT
Clean, bright & undamaged with just a small collection of spindle marks to the side 2 centre hole mainly.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both surfaces are clean, bright & glossy with no significant marks or wear visible in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals numerous but harmless wispy paper-type hairlines, but no scuffs, marks or any other major faults.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has received a small number of careful plays and the sound remains clear & clean throughout with no traces of any groove/playwear to either track. My careful playcheck also uncovered no significant background noise or other such audible distraction or wear.
Sleeve
EXCELLENT
Crisp & flat with just a little handling wear on the rear side edges but no writing, tears or splits.
