Magical Mystery Tour was issued in the UK on 8 December 1967, just over two weeks before the film was broadcast by UK and US television. It was priced at the sub-£1 price of 19s 6d, which accordingly is around £17 today. Although released as an EP in the UK and LP in the US in 1967, it wasn’t released as an 11 track LP in the UK until 1976.The sleeve was designed by John Van Hamersveld who also designed the covers for: The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street, Jefferson Airplane's Crown of Creation, The Grateful Dead's Skeletons in the Closet and Blondie's Eat to the Beat.

Sleeve: Thick gatefold sleeve. All sides straight and flat, spine fully intact and fully readable while all corners remain square. No splits, rips, tears or writing, signs of age related handling, barely any feathering. Inside cover has aged related handling marks (see photos). Graded VG/VG+

Labels:  Classic black Odeon labels, light spindle lines only (see photos) graded VG+

Vinyl: Retains its original red sheen, closer inspection shows a couple of surfaces scuffs, couple of needle lines none of which cause any problems in play, under light shows feint hairlines only,  graded VG+

Audio: Plays through fine, good stereo separation and clarity as expected from a Japanese pressing, no distortion, no hisses, skips, sticks, jumps, pips or pops, there is some (very little) light static crackle in between tracks (played on a Project carbon - blue Ortofon) graded solid VG+

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have been a collector for 47+ years buying and selling records over the years to feed my changing habits. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades or duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again as this is. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - as an additional guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.  

NM- New but has been opened, played once or twice. The record shows no signs of being played. Cover etc remain in near perfect condition. 

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing, nothing more. 

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. 

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
