This auction is for The Beatles album Magical Mystery Tour. This edition is an Original Master Recording LP produced by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs, MFSL 1-047. It is half-speed mastered and pressed in Japan on heavy-duty virgin vinyl.
This is the best sounding version of Abbey Road ever released - MUCH better than anything released on CD. And in my opinion, Magical Mystery Tour is one of the Beatles best albums.
This pressing was made in Japan, using a half-speed mastering process with the original master tapes and specially plated stampers, on heavy, thick premium virgin vinyl. With this mint audiophile edition, you will (finally!) hear all the detail in the music: every vocal harmony, every guitar overdub and every detail from the original recording studio. This album is a must for every serious Beatles fan.
Free Bonus:
I'm adding a free bonus item to this auction: An original 24 page full-sized insert from the original album, which was not included in the MFSL edition. This full-sized, 12''x12'' full color booklet is crammed with photos and comics of the Beatles from the original TV production of Magical Mystery Tour and was included with the first editions of the official release. I removed it years ago from the regular album, and kept it with my MFSL edition, to make it complete. I'll include it with this auction, so that you'll get the full experience of the original vinyl edition, just as intended by the Beatles.

This record has been played carefully using a high-quality, properly-adjusted tonearm and cartridge, and only after dry cleaning carefully with a carbon-fiber brush. Please bid with confidence, knowing that you are going to own a truly rare item in exceptionally good condition, sounding just as good as a sealed copy, but at a much lower price. NO RESERVE.
Vinyl: Mint/NM/M- Minor spindle marks.
Cover: Glossy Cover. VG Edge and Bottom wear, long split on bottom. Nowhere near mint, but generally nice enough, and does not detract one iota from the quality of the vinyl. Buy it to listen to it.
Inner Sleeve: Mint Original Master Sleeve; Static-free plastic/rice paper inner sleeve.
Inside Protective Cardboard Sleeve: VG+ original cardboard inner sleeve, with lots of old 1980's MFSL advertising on it. :)
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab uses an album’s master tape(s) combined with a unique procedure known as "half-speed" mastering, which literally slows down the cutting system involved in mastering the vinyl so that musical information can be transferred from the source tape to the lacquer with greater precision. This advanced mastering technique adds substantial refinements in the vinyl compound itself and improves methods of plating the lacquer. The result is a significant improvement in overall performance from the vinyl medium." The vinyl records are pressed on "High Definition Super Vinyl" by the Victor Company of Japan and are then packaged in "Special Static Free Dust Free" inner sleeves with the finest heavy-duty protective packaging.
