This item is a first press mono album released on Capitol Records on January 20, 1964 by The Beatles entitled ‘Meet The Beatles’. Record label and number is Capitol Records T 2047. This first press album features the Capitol Records labels that have no BMI or ASCAP credits after the song titles (see photos). This is the most desirable mono label variation because it is the first and rarest mono label. It is speculated that about 20,000 copies were manufactured with this label. Record itself appears to be in strong VG- to VG condition with many (too many to count) light hairline scuffs but record played amazingly well with no skips and very little surface noise when played on my Denon turntable. A very enjoyable listen! Record labels have light spindle wear but are in very good condition. Mono record cover is its original shrink wrap but shrink is torn at certain areas of the cover and cover has some discoloring and some bending at the opening of the cover but is in VG+ condition overall with no splitting. There is a number 3 by the RIAA logo on the back of the cover and cover has no George Martin credit. Original Capitol Records inner sleeve is included. See photos for song titles. A very rare Capitol label variation and great addition to your Beatles collection. Will fill a very nice hole in your Beatles collection until and if you can ever find another copy. No reserve.
