Description
This item is a first press stereo album released on January 20, 1964 on Capitol Records by The Beatles entitled ‘Meet The Beatles’. Record label and number is Capitol Records ST 2047. This first pressing has no BMI or ASCAP credits on the record labels. It is speculated that about 2000 Stereo copies were released in 1964 and then soon corrected on the next pressings. Record itself is in very strong VG condition with flaws being a small 1/8 inch feelable mark at the beginning of the song ‘All I’ve Got To Do’ that is audible for about 45 seconds at the beginning of the song that causes a repeating click that is not loud and does not cause a skip. Other flaw is a hairline scuff across the last 4 songs on Side 2 that is not audible. Record plays fine with no skips and is a nice listen. Stereo record labels have some light wear. Record was professionaly
Cleaned on a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine (see photos).
Matrix numbers are:
SIDE 1 - ST - 1 - 2047 - B2
SIDE 2 - ST - 2 - 2047 - B2
Record cover is in VG to VG+ condition with the main flaw being a name (Kitson) written on the front of the cover a the top left corner and some small written in pen writing (Joanne Kitson) also at the top left corner. Cover has some light wear but is in overall nice condition. I wanted to keep the original cover that came with this record instead of upgrading the cover (see photos). Album comes complete with its original dark blue Capitol Records paper inner sleeve. See photos for song listings. These Stereo first pressings are extremely hard to find in any condition and is a great addition to your Beatles collection. Only the second one of these Stereo pressings that I’ve ever seen in over 45 years of collecting Beatles records. Money back if not satisfied. Feel free to e mail with any questions. Payment is expected within five business days. I combine shipping rates on multiple purchases - please wait for invoice before paying. Records are shipped in cardboard mailers and are well packed.
