Beatles Meet The Beatles Black Label w/ Color Band Capitol Record Club LP

I am putting up for auction some Beatles’ Capitol Record Club LPs from my collection, so please check my other current auctions for more Beatles’ Capitol Record Club LPs. These Black Label with Color Band Beatles Capitol Record Club LPs were special pressings and are HARD-TO-FIND, for sure!!!

In this auction:

·       “MEET THE BEATLES” by The Beatles

·       This LP was issued by Capitol Records.

·       But this pressing is SPECIAL! This is the RARE CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING of this title.

·       It was issued in 1969.

·       This Record Club pressing has the BLACK CAPITOL LABEL WITH COLOR BAND with the printing “Manufactured under license”.

·       This CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING has its own special catalog number an “8” preceding the original LP catalog number. This LP’s catalog number is ST 8 – 2047. 

·       The Beatles’ CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSINGS have become VERY SOUGHT AFTER for their RARITY due to the very limited quantities pressed. You had to be a member of the record club to originally buy and have this LP shipped to you!! You could not walk into a record store in 1969 and purchase this Record Club Pressing off the rack!

·       And this Record Club vinyl also comes with its CUSTOM RECORD CLUB COVER!! The COVER in this auction has ST 8-2047 printed on the rear cover at top right and on the lower portion of the spine. The 3 black “hash-marks” on the top left seam also identify this as a Record Club cover. 

·       The COVER is graded VG+ CONDITION. There are small corner pushes on each corner. There are NO seam splits at all and just a 1-inch area of flaking on the top seam. The front cover slick has minimal wear. There is a small area near the bottom of the front cover where the slick was pasted over a small fold forming a slight “ridge”, and there is a small scrape near the left end of the slight “ridge”. The primarily white rear cover shows just light aging.  This is a # 16 (Jacksonville Pressing Plant) cover. (Just check the images and you’ll see how nice this cover is!)

·       The VINYL is in STRONG VG to VG+ CONDITION. There are some light surface hairlines/scuffs.

·       The black label/color band Record Club pressings (which were the FIRST Beatles Capitol Record Club pressings) are more difficult to find and have higher values than the green label Beatles Capitol Record Club pressings (that were issued LATER).

·       If you are missing this one from your vinyl collection, here’s a nice copy for you if you’re the high bidder.
