Description
The Beatles "Michelle/Drive My Car" ORIGINAL 1966 1st Pressing "EXPORT" DP564!!!! With 1 G Mother and Stampers!!!!
Released on the 8th July 1966!!!! This record was produced for "EXPORT" orders only, as these tracks were Never released in England on the 45 inch format!!!!
The single looks like a normal "Parlophone" 45 disc with one exception, the statement "Sold In The UK Subject To Release Price Conditions. See Price List" does not appear on the Labels!!!! Because they were NOT to be sold in England!!!!
Two Belgian Beatles pressings "Yesterday/Dizzy Miss Lizzy" (see my other listings) and "Michelle/Drive My Car" carry the "DP" prefix. This was used exclusively for records destined for "EXPORT"!!!! They were sometimes actually pressed in the UK on the English "Parlophone" label and then sold in another country!!!! sometimes they were pressed abroad with the "DP" prefix on the country's own "Parlophone" label!!!!
The Matrix, Mother and Stampers are:
Side One: 7XCE-18357-1. On the run out grooves are the letters G and number 1. As well as the KT (tax code).
Side Two: 7XCE-18358-1. On the run out grooves are the letters G and number 1. As well as the KT (tax code).
To have 1 and G as the Mother and Stamper shows that this HAD to be from the Very First Press!!!!
CONDITION:
The Centre Labels to both sides are in "Great" condition. Though the Push Out Centre has been removed (this was a common practice for Export singles)!!!! Both Labels are Spotless and Clean and all the lettering is Perfect with no signs of Rubbing!!!!
The Vinyl still retains that Gloosy Look and has clearly been Well looked after which is reflected in the playback. There are a few marks showing on the Vinyl when held up to a bright light (though many of these have been caused by handling). On Side 1: there are some strange looking marks but they DO NOT affect, or sound during the playing of it!!!! Considering "Michelle" is a very softly recorded track it sounds "Excellent"!!!! Both sides play Extremely Well with minimal background noise!!!! There are no Pops, Clicks or Jumps!!!!!!!! I play graded this on a Linn lp12 Sondek through a Linn System (which is very unforgiving). I listened through both the Mono and Streo channels and the sound was "Brilliant"!!!! The record lays perfectly Flat with no Warping!!!!
Overall the Labels and Vinyl must grade as at least Very Good+/Excellent!!!!
SLEEVE:
The Vinyl is housed in it's ORIGINAL EMI "Parlophone Company "Wavy" Sleeve!!!! There are no Rips, Tears or Writing anywhere to be seen, though there are a couple of tiny Splits around the opening edge!!!! There are also some signs of Creasing which is to be expected considering it's Age and Flimsy construction!!!!
I would easily grade the Sleeve as Very Good+/Excellent!!!!!
So here we have a Brilliant, Rare and Original UK Beatles "Export Label"!!!!
