Description

Parlogram is delighted to have been commissioned to sell one of the largest collection of Beatles vinyl to come onto the market for many years.

This once-in-a-lifetime collection comprises over 2,000 LPs, 1,000 45s/EPs & many box sets from virtually every country/territory where Beatles records were released.

All records will be sold exclusively on Ebay in auction format only (no 'Buy It Now' offers please) and WITHOUT RESERVE.

Due to the number of discs listed each week, gradings are visual only. However we are happy to provide audio grades on request.

We begin 2014 with part 1 of the Japanese LPs - arguably some of their finest sounding pressings

The was first in a series of 3 unique Japanese compilations of 'Merseybeat' groups and dates from August 1964

It includes 2 Beatles tracks: 'Please, Please Me' & 'I Want To Hold You Hand'

Also includes tracks by: The Dave Clark Five, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Peter & Gordon, Freddie & the Dreamers, The Fourmost, Manfred Mann & The Hollies

This high-quality 1st MONO pressing is on RED VINYL with black & silver Odeon labels: OR-7060

Both labels include the 'LONG PLAYING' text around the lower edge

Matrix numbers: 2EJ-21 3 & 2EJ-22 2

Vinyl weight: 155g

Housed within a glossy bi-flipback cover with '1,500 YEN' price on the rear panel & complete with 4-page lyric sheet & original inner-sleeve

CONDITION

Disc: VERY GOOD +

This copy has clearly been barely played as there are only 2/3 faint spindle trails around each centre hole. Both playing surfaces are unworn and unmarked, except for a few harmless wispy paper hairlines beneath halogen light. I have downgraded from an easy 'EX' due to a small edge-warp which does affect play of the beginning of the opening track on each side.

Cover: VERY GOOD

Clean & glossy with just some minor wear & discolouration to the, but no further significant blemishes or wear.

Lyric sheet: EXCELLENT
