Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me
After the first two Black and Gold Label pressings, which were only available for a few weeks, Parlophone changed to the traditional Black and Yellow label.
The first issue on this new label did not have the "recording First published"statement on it, and so it was quickly withdrawn for one that had this information.
This new label became what is known as the 4th pressing, and the most common of all the early Beatles Please Please me releases.
It is therefore very hard to find a genuine 3rd press, or 1st press on the Black and Yellow label.

The Sleeve
Very nice example indeed. Very minimal creasing to the laminate on the front cover, and only a little corner wear. This is the first issue E.J Day sleeve with the Anguc McBean acreditation on the front.
The back of the sleeve is in super White condition, and only showing a little wear to the bottom flipback.
contains the original "USE EMITEX" inner sleeve.
The Vinyl
The labels are in Superb condition. There is no spindle hole wear on either side, and only the lightest traces of spider lines to show that the record has been put on a turntable.
Has all the hallmarks of a genuine 3rd pressing, which includes, "The Parlophone Co" rim wording. The alrge 33 RPM above the Parlophone Logo, and as previously mentioned no recording first published . Also these early pressings did not have any Tax code embossed on the label either.
the vinyl itself is nice and clean and glossy. There is a light hairlines to be seen when placed under intense illumination. there is also one small scratch accross track 4 on side 3 (Do you want to Know a secret)
having played this all the way through I can say that it plays very nicely indeed. From the near silent run in groove when stylus is placed onto the vinyl.
The clear MoNo sound burst through the speakers as the boys move into I saw here standing there.
There is a very slight amount of background in places, but it is very much in the background, and certainly does not spoil the listening pleasure.
the small scratch on side 2 is audible, but what you hear is a few light clicks, nothing more, and certainly no jumps, or sticking.
I would have to grade the record VG+, and it really is a very nice collctible copy
