THE BEATLES - PLATINUM SERIES BOX SET - 16 Vinyl LP's

The very rare box set. It contains classic reissues of all sixteen Capitol Records Beatles LP's

Meet the Beatles, The Beatles Second Album, Beatles '65, Something New The Beatles, Yellow Submarine, Revolver, The Early Beatles, Sct. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, Beatles VI, Abbey Roads, Help, Rubber Soul, Yesterday and Today, Magical Mystery Tour, Hey Jude and The White Album.

All 16 vinyl LP's are mint and have never been played. All are still in original shrink wrapper, but for The White Album, that no longer has shrink wrapper. I can only tell you the label color of The White Album (since it is the only LP that is not opened). Its color is dark purple. Album covers show some wear to the shrink wrapper (slight tears). The silver color cardboard box is in fair condition, it has been moved from place to place and shelf to shelf for years. After all we are talking about over 20 years now.

What is this rare find. Briefly, Capitol Records expanded to include Capitol Data Systems (late 1970s or late 1980s), an arm of Capitol Industries that manufactured 5.5" computer diskettes. This venture proved to be a failure for Capitol. This boxed set, made to promote the expansion. To the best of my knowledge, this promotional item was not released to the general public. This set is believed to be from 1984.
