THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'

UK 1963 1st PRESSING *BLACK & GOLD* LABEL MONO LP

**HIGH GRADE INVESTMENT COPY**

This is without doubt the best copy of this pressing I have had the pleasure to sell.
Purchased on day of release and played just a few times on good quality equipment, it must be one of the finest copies still remaining.
Whether buying for investment, the music or both, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

This outstanding example of The Beatles' 1st LP is a true 1963 1st mono pressing on the UK black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels bear the initial, but incorrect, 'Dick James Mus.' publishing credits for songs 1 & 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
An 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.

Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/P & 1/L
Disc weight: 163g

Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed mono cover
The 'Angus McBean' credit is positioned in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

This copy comes complete with its extremely rare and original plastic cover from Brian Epstein's Liverpool record store.

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

An outstanding, pristine set with no spindle marks, touch-up, writing or missing paper.

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

This extremely well-looked after & rarely played copy retains all of its 'as new' deep gloss shine on both sides with no groove-whitening or dull/cloudy areas from incorrect long-term storage.
Both sides appear pristine when viewed in strong daylight bearing with just a few insignificant faint fingernail scuffs visible on extreme close-up, but no scratches to either side.
Close inspection directly beneath a halogen desk lamp reveals just a fine rainbow shine and a few barely visible wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other marks or wear.
A quality, heavy pressing which lies 100% flat on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

Clearly, this disc has just received just a handful of careful plays on good quality equipment and has a power and clarity missing from any other subsequent pressing of this title.
My careful listening at volume exposed no evidence of any groovewear distortion in either channel or indeed any other significant or major deterioration to the sound quality throughout.
Being critical, I did detect a touch of faint background on 'Anna' and 'A Taste Of Honey' but no absolutely no wear to the vunerable 2 inner tracks: 'Please, Please Me' & Twist & Shout' at all.
Both run-ins and all bands play extremely quietly with no clicks, pops or other intereference.
Of course, there are no jumps, repeats or any other significant or major faults anywhere on this unbeatable copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS

A wonderful bright & vibrant front panel which retains a totally unscratched high-gloss laminate.
There is just a faint crease towards the lower edge beneath Ringo and a few minor edge wrinkles but no 'thumbnails' or any other wear.
Apart from a minor bruise to the upper left, all corners are in superb shape with no rubbing or wear - even to vunerable lower two.
Both the front and rear opening edges are clean & sharp with just a touch of minor wear to the rear, but no tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel is bright, clean & white with just a few very faint handling marks but no discolouration writing or missing paper.
All the delicate flipbacks are clean and completely intact and undamaged with no repairs, creasing or missing pieces.
Both seams unworn and smooth with no flaking or missing laminate to the upper or lower edges.
The spine is in perfect, unbent & undamaged condition.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean and flat with just minor storage wrinkling but no tears, writing or splits.
