THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
UK 1963 *BLACK & GOLD* LABEL MONO LP
**NEAR MINT 'NORTHERN SONGS' COPY**
This superb 1963 mono pressing is on the UK black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels bears the correct 'Northern Songs' publishing credits for songs 1& 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 2/GM & 1/M
Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed mono cover
The 'Angus McBean' credit is positioned in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A pristine set with no spindle marks, holewear/touch-up, writing or missing paper.
Visual: EXCELLENT
This really well-looked after and rarely played copy retains its deep gloss shine surfaces without any groove-whitening or storage wear.
The only significant marks visible in daylight are one or two faint stylus hairlines but there are certainly no major marks or scratches anyhwere.
Close inspection directly beneath a halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a healthy 'rainbow' shine and some inner-sleeve removal hairlines.
Pressed on very thick, sharpedged vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This disc has received only a few careful plays on good quality equipment and no background noise/crackle or groovewear distortion is audible anwhere.
Both channels on all tracks sound totally 'as new'. Even the easily damaged inner tracks: 'Please, Please Me' & 'Twist & Shout', play perfectly.
Both run-ins & all bands play extremely quietly with no clicks, hiss, jumps or any other traces of audible wear.
Hard to find a better looking or sounding copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
An early & strong example with an undamaged front panel which bears a few light edge wrinkles but no heavy creasing or wear.
Apart from a small bump to the upper left, all corners are in fine, unworn shape.
Both opening edges are clean and sharp with no tears or feathering either side
The rear is clean & white with just a few faint age-spots and a small rough area towards the lower left corner, but no writing or missing paper.
Both seams are clean & unworn with no flaking laminate and the spine & delicate flipbacks are all intact & undamaged.
Smooth & clean with just some minor storagewear creases, but no splits, tears or writing.
