Description

The Beatles - Please Please Me
This exceptional copy of the Beatles' debut studio album is a UK first pressing on the highly sought after black and gold Parlophone label.
The vinyl has the 1st variation labels which credit Dick James as the publisher for the titles A1, A2, A6, A7, B4 & B5.
The vinyl is housed within the front-side laminated Ernest J. Day sleeve with Angus McBean photo credit position in the bottom right hand corner on the front of the sleeve and 'cut-out' flip-backs to the reverse.
Also included is the original heavy paper polythene lined EMItex die-cut inner sleeve that only came with very early pressings.

Serial number: PMC
Matrix number: XEX 421 - 1N / XEX 422 - 1N
Stamper codes: 1 GA / 1 GA
Tax Codes: ZMT
Vinyl Weight: 146g

Condition:

Vinyl: EXCELLENT -
Labels: EXCELLENT -
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. There are only a handful of light spindle marks on either sides and very slight rubbing around the spindle holes.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Superb 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces which only show a handful of light marks in strong daylight.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
In spite of the visible marks the heavy weight mono pressing sounds simply superb. There is no sign of groove/play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and minimal static in between tracks. A really strong example.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT -
The original sleeve looks fantastic. The front retains the original lustre. The cover art is vibrant with bright colours. The rear is clean with only subtle signs of discolouration along the opening edge. As is often the case, there is a small section of the bottom flip-back missing. All four corners have subtle softening. The top, bottom and opening edges along with the spine are without any wear. If this was any other sleeve I would grade VG+ but compared to the vast majority of these early sleeves I think it fair and appropriate to grade this copy EX-.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is very clean, without any staining and with minimal creasing. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.

The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer. Non-EU international bidders please get in touch for an accurate postage cost if you do not want to ship with the GSP.
