Description
MEM: MOVIE & MUSIC MEMORABILIA
A rare mono Beatles black/gold label "Please Please Me" vinyl LP record, released on Parlophone PMC 1202 in 1962. All "McCartney-Lennon" compositions are credited to Dick James Mus. Co" except "Love Me Do" & "PS I Love You", which shows the record to be from the first batch of black/golds pressed. The matrix numbers/stampers are Side 1: XEX 421-1N & GR, Side 2: XEX 422 1N & GD. The large "mono" top right of cover & positioning of "Photo: Angus McBean" under the "g" of "songs", indicates the sleeve to be from the 2nd batch of black/gold mono pressings.
The record has various light scratches but plays well throughout with only very occasional audible clicks except for the first part of "Baby It's You" which plays with a slight click. The labels show signs of play but there is no writing or sticker marks etc. Most would grade the record as VG. The record comes in a plain white sleeve. The original Ernest J Day sleeve has various light scuffs & a slightly "bruised" bottom right corner on front cover. The back cover is similarly scuffed but there is no writing & the spine remains in VG condition.
