This is another sale from a my varied collection of records.
THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE PLEASE ME'
UK MONO pressing is on the gold Parlophone label PMC 1202 with the Dick James Music Publishing credits for the tracks I Saw Her Standing There, Misery, Ask Me Why and Please Please Me.
Matrix: Side 1 is XEX 421-1N and Side 2 is XEX 422-1N
Stamper: Side 1 is 1T and Side 2 is 1H
The embossed MT tax code is stamped around the centre of Side 1
Housed in a front laminated 3 flipback 'Ernest J.Day & Co Ltd' printed cover with the large 'mono' front indicator together with Angus McBean Photograph credit printed at extreme right hand corner.
Grading
The Vinyl
Visual - would grade vinyl as Good, there are significant marks and scratches on both sides.
Playback - Despite visual appearance It plays on my Linn Sondek more like VG, no skips or jumps.
What follows is my best playback description -
Side 1 Track 4 and 5 both have pops at the end. Track 6 has pops throughout. Rest play well
Side 2 Track 1 has pops throughout and Track 3 has pops at the end. Rest again play well.
There is crackle between tracks
Sleeve
Would grade it Fair - Significant damage and wear - top edge has 3 inch split and bottom has 6 inch split. Damage to the flip backs (see photos). The sleeve shows the residue of have being sellotaped in the past.
Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
