This auction is for a rare 1st press of The Beatles Please Please Me 1963 LP.
Parlophone Black & Gold label PMC 1202. Matrix No's XEX 421/2 1N. Has the M T tax code stamp on side 2.
Selling this item on behalf of my mum who bought this as soon as it was released. She said she has not played this for 40 years since having us kids oops. Now decided to sell her Beatles collection as just sitting in the shelf and does not own a record player.
The record is in the orginal Ernest J Day record cover, with Angus McBean credit beneath the s of songs, which is still in good condition for something 47 years old. Also still in the inner Emitex sleeve which is like new (no splits or tears) just a tiny bit of discolouration with age. There is no writing on either the sleeve or the inner.
Side 1 - Tracks 1,2,6 & 7 and Side 2 - Track 4 & 6 are credited to Dick James Mus. Co (not Northern songs as in the corrected pressings)
I have personally played the LP yesterday to check for any flaws it may have whilst playing and the only one I found was on one track where it appears to skip 1 beat. Visually, there are many surface scratches due to play/age and a couple of deeper ones but apart from the skip mentioned above, the record plays absolutely fine. The music and vocals are clear with no distortion just a little surface noise sometimes on the quieter tracks and in between tracks.
We have been told that this rare record is likely to increase in value in the future despite not being in mint condition so grab yourself a bargain or add to your Beatles record collection. I will also be listing some other early Beatles very soon so take a look.
Record will be securely packaged and sent recorded to ensure trackable delivery. Please note that whilst I will do all I can to help in the unlikely event the item is damaged/lost in the post, I am not personally responsible for any loss, reimbursement or replacement once I have dispatched item through Royal Mail. Due to the value of this item, I highly recommend you take postal insurance to prevent any such loss. I would be more than happy to arrange this and will add this cost on the invoice as unable to do this on the listing.
