Beatles Please Please Me UK Yellow and Black Parlophone Mono PMC 1202
Stunning pressing of this classic lp.
Matrices XEX 421 1N and XEX 422 2N
The record is in near mint condition. It is flat and very clean and shiny: indeed it looks almost like new. There are no observable marks even in bright light and the sound is, of course, flawless throughout. There are a number of spindle marks indicating that the lp has been played a number of times, but it has been very well looked after. It will be very difficult to find a better copy than this.
The labels are in excellent condition. They are black with the yellow Parlophone logo. They have the “Sold in the UK....” text indicating a post ’63 pressing. They are free from wear, writing, rips, tears or stickers. Other than the spindle marks and some very light wear to the hole the labels are mint.
The cover is in at least excellent condition. It is the correct Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve with the small Mono logo on the front. There is very little wrong with the sleeve at all except for the usual fluff stuck to the flips where the laminate has shrunk and some very light wear to the opening at the corners. In all other respects the cover is flawless. I have very seldom seen a better example of this sleeve in forty years of collecting.
The "Emitex" Inner is in excellent condition.
Even though it is not a first pressing, this is a copy that I am sure would satisfy even the most exacting of collectors. In my opinion the lp is undoubtedly of investment quality; particularly for the collector who is chasing every pressing. Happy bidding.
