Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me
(Parlophone PMC 1202 UK LP 1963)
This is a UK original 1963 Mono LP pressing. It has a front laminated flipback sleeve which has a large sized "Mono" on the front. The sleeve is printed by "Ernest J. Day". It comes with its original tracing-paper lined "Emitex" company inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has yellow & black "Parlophone" labels. The labels have "The Parlophone Co...", and "Recording First..." texts. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-1N. The mother stampers are GMM 1 7 and OOG 4.
This is a genuine 1963 UK Mono pressing of this LP. It is technically the 1st UK pressing to have "Yellow & Black" Parlophone labels. It still has the earliest -1N/ -1N matrix stampers. These are not that common & are the next best thing to a very expensive "black & gold" UK pressing. This is a very reasonable copy overall too. Playback is excellent also.
Sleeve: There is a light curve to the sleeve at the top third. There is some light fading & foxing on the rear sleeve. There is spme light or very mild ringwear. There is some light or mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a small bit of wear to the bottom flipback. VG+ condition
Vinyl: There are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are approx 6 light hairline marks. They measure from 1 cm to 4 cm in length. Most of these are very small. VG+ condition. The labels are in VG+ condition & show mild to more moderate spindle wear. The company inner sleeve is in VG+ condition. There is some light to mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG++ to Near Excellent overall & Excellently in many places. There is some light or very light crackle in a few quieter places. A very nice audio copy!
