Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me
(Parlophone PCS 3042 UK LP 1963)
This is a UK original 1960's Stereo LP pressing. Circa 1967-1968, It has a heavyweight front laminated flipback sleeve which has a small sized "Stereo" on the front. The sleeve is printed by "Garrod & Lofthouse". It comes with its original generic company paper inner sleeve. This advertises other EMI LP's available at the time. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has yellow & black "Parlophone" labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in the UK..." texts. There is no embossed "KT" tax code on the labels. The matrix numbers are YEX 94-1 and YEX 95-1. The mother stampers are RD 1 and RC 1 respectively. A genuine 1960's UK Stereo pressing of this LP. These are not common.
Sleeve: There is some mild or moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a 1 cm tear at the sleeve opening - near the centre. This goes through the front & rear sleeve opening. It is not too noticeable overall. There is some mild, moderate to more considerable rubbing wear on the sleeve opening edges. Again, this is not too noticeable overall. There is light, mild or more moderate foxing on the rear sleeve. There is mild fading to the rear sleeve too. There are about eight 1 cm hairline creases at the spine. These affect the front & rear spine area. One has caused a very minor tear at the spine.This has also caused some mild rubbing wear on the spine face too.. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear. Overall, Good+ condition
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of more moderate sleeve rubs on a few areas. There is a very light 2.5 cm surface hairline mark. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or very mild dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Very Good condition. The labels are in Excellent condition & show light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall, & even Excellent in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places. There are no noticeable clicks or pops. Overall, a very decent audio copy.
