Description
I have decided to sell my vinyl album collection, all bought in the 1960s and 70s.
Beatles - Please Please Me. Parlaphone PMC1202, 1963
matrix nos. XEX421-1N & XEX422-1N
This is a very rare UK contract pressing, manufactured by Decca, of the Beatles debut "Please Please Me." In 1963, sales of the first Beatles album took off at such a pace that EMI couldn't keep up with demand. They hired competitor Decca Records to press a limited amount of records for a few weeks in an effort to fill orders and keep the album in the charts. Decca pressings are identified by the "deep groove" label, with a circular indentation running about half an inch from the outside edge of the label.

I have played it all the way through prior to selling: the whole album is worn and has quite a bit of crackle/distortion, but there are no audible scratches. The disc does have some surface scratches though
The cover is a bit of a mess with lots of yellowed sellotape and biro, especially on the back. see photos
The inner sleeve is in good condition
Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class signed for. Please note I will only post to the UK
I am also selling other albums, finishing around the same time.
