The Beatles ?– Anthology 2

12” Vinyl Sampler / Custom PS 1996

Apple Records SPRO-11206/11207

Official (and Authentic) release from The Beatles and Apple Records pressed for distribution most specifically for college radio stations where actual vinyl was still being played. Mainstream commercial radio had predominantly switched over to other formats by this time.

The high point of this very limited pressing is the inclusion of what some believed to be a unique mix of “I’m Only Sleeping” with a different separation of instrumentation than in any other known mix. I found it subtle at best but didn’t mind trying to pick up the differences through headphones for an hour. I got lost in that song and couldn’t think of a better way to spend an hour.

Condition wise the vinyl is almost pristine and plays perfectly.

PS: Only the slightest amount of wear to this unique sleeve with artwork created exclusively for this promotional release.

There isn’t much actual promotional vinyl from this period in The Beatles catalogue so this release does fit very nicely with the Anthology vinyl sets.

Selling a big part of my personal collection accrued over 5 decades. Will be listing a few auctions/items weekly. Some very rare BEATLES items among MANY OTHER artists. Please check in from time to time and see what Rarities and Odd pressings I’ve listed from this extensive collection.
