NB - THE HAZEL YARWOOD 5/5 cut has long been reputed by audiophiles to be the best sounding, definitive, mono cut of Rubber Soul - I quote: "the definitive mono pressing of rubber soul is known as the HAZEL YARWOOD cutting. this was cut after the (-1) and (-4) and it uses (-5 , -5 ) cuttings. but with these being known as the best sounding pressings they can be hard to find and expensive"
I have to add, listening to this and comparing to a Loud Cut version (1/1 matrices) the difference in sound qaulity is noticeable...
THIS COPY:
Matrix / Runout (Runout stamp, side A. Var. 2): XEX 579-5 - 1/A MOTHER STAMPER Matrix / Runout (Runout stamp, side B. Var. 2): XEX 580-5 - 1/O MOTHER STAMPER
There is handling wear and rubbing to the sleeve, a few laminate lifts and creases; nice readable spine. Just a little wear from past use; intact though - PLEASE VIEW PHOTOS
The Original 'Use Emitex' lined inner sleeve is in nice condition, there are splits on a couple of sides
The labels and vinyl have lots of signs of its past use. Light hairline scratches and scuffs mainly. Please view photos as I have tried to show some...
It plays really well though, much better than it looks. A good quality sound overall. There is the occasional bit of click/pop/crackle - nothing that distracts too much, a very pleasant listening experience - AS HAZEL INTENDED!
