Description
These items are from my personal collection, accumulated over a 55-year period. This lot contains both records and sleeves (described separately below). The sleeves have been stored without the records since my original purchase at the time of their release. Records and sleeves are visually graded, by me, based on Goldmine grading standards. I try to grade conservatively.
The Beatles - The Long and Winding Road/For You Blue (US, Picture Sleeve Only, Apple, 2832) Sleeve Side A is graded VG+. Some light wrinkling and inner label scuffing. A light crease in the right-hand corner and a scuff mark. Sleeve Side B is graded VG. Minor wrinkling. Inner label scuffing and some scuffing around the crease in the lower-left corner.
The Beatles - Let It Be/You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) (US, Record and PS, Apple 2764) Sleeve Side A is Excellent, mainly due to some light wrinkling/discoloration at the top edge and left-hand side of the sleeve. Sleeve Side B is graded M-. The record is graded VG, with a couple very light surface scratches and some cleanable fingerprinting. The A-side label has my name written in ball point pen.
The Beatles - I Want to Hold Your Hand/I Saw Her Standing There (US, Picture Sleeve Only, Capitol, 5112) Sleeve Side A is graded VG+, with some minor wrinkling and a spot blemish to the right of George's head. Sleeve Side B is also graded VG+. There are some very minor blemishes in the white area above Ringo's head and some evidence of outer ring wear.
The Beatles - Eight Days A Week/I Don't Want to Spoil the Party (US, Record and PS, Capitol, 5371) Sleeve Side A is graded VG, due to two small staple holes at the top of the sleeve, some discoloration and scuffing in the title area, and a scuff mark in the lower right hand corner. Sleeve Side B is graded G+ due to the scotch tape residue extending down from the top edge of the sleeve (see photo) . Otherwise, this side would be considered Excellent. The record is graded VG+, with a few light scratches.
The auction starting price is set to primarily cover postage and insurance. I believe in the free market system. My main interest is in getting these items into the hands of a serious collector. The law of supply and demand will take care of the rest.
