Beatles Related LP The Scaffold 1968 MONO PROMO Mike McCartney VERY NICE COPY.

For those unfamiliar, The Scaffold was a funny little pop group from England, 1962-1969.  Member Mike McGear is Paul’s kid brother, Mike McCartney. And he sounds a lot like him!

This album was never commercially issued in mono in the States. This rare promo copy was the only way to get the MONO mix in the States.  Plus, tracks 5 and 6 on Side 1 had titles 15 years before Prince thought to use those abbreviations, so how about that?!  =0)

Vinyl--- Really good-looking copy.  One long, but very light hairline on side 1. A few stray others between the two sides. Manufacturer’s defects on side 2 don’t affect play.

Plates--- 6018MA (mono A)/ 6018MB (mono B) Both sides have New York’s “Bell Sound,” “sf,” and “Bestway” in the dead waxes.  Clearly a New York pressing!

Cover--- Definitely has some wear. Top seam has a one-inch split. Mouth has moisture damage, no mildew or mold. Back cover is stained, has moderate dirtwear.

Large white Monaural DJ sticker adhered to the regular stereo cover.  Very good condition!

Labels--- Beautiful pale blue labels read, “PROMOTION COPY.”  A little dirtwear, no spindle marks.

Inner Sleeve--- Issued with a plain, white inner sleeve, no die-cut hole for the labels to show.  Sleeve is in excellent condition.  Album will be shipped in an extra plain, white generic sleeve, so as not to damage your original 1968 inner sleeve en route.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!) 

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
