'THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'

This EXCELLENT 1st mono pressing of 'Revolver' (PMC 7009) dates from initial August 1966 release.

This 1st day pressing includes the alternate 'remix 11' take of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which is only available on these initial copies with the 'XEX 606-1' side 2 matrix.

It bears the yellow & black Parlophone label - PMC 7009 - with the 'Sold in UK...' text & 'The Gramophone Co...' worded rims both sides.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole.

Housed in a heavy card stock, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.

This copy comes with and original clear plastic outer cover from their manager Brian Epstein's 'NEMS' record store in Liverpool.

A clean and bright pair with a small collection of light faint spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which retain all of their just-pressed shine indicating that this disc has clearly only been out of its cover a handful of times during the past 45 years. Barely any wear is visible in strong daylight, just three of four small, light surface marks on side 1 and a slightly longer one on side 2 - but certainly nothing I would call a scratch. Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a few harmless wispy paper/stylus hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of this quality heavy copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +

This well looked-after, highly respectable sounding disc has received minimal careful play on good equipment and the entire album is free from any groove/playwear distortion. My single careful play-check detected only a faint hint background on 'Eleanor Rigby' & 'Here, There & Everywhere', but this is barely noticeable and does not, in my opinion, detract form the listening enjoyment. The entire album is also free from any clicks, pops or other such distractions, making this copy tough to upgrade for sound.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A superb clean & example which shows very little in the way of wear for its 45 years. The front panel retains an unscratched high-gloss laminate where the only trace of wear is a handful of light 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the front opening edge.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with a few light storage creases, but no writing or splits to any seam.
