Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul
This fatanstic copy of the Beatles' fourth studio album is a UK first pressing, the so-called 'loud-cut', on the much sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.
The 'loud cut' first pressing is so called as upon hearing the record John Lennon asked for the pressing plates be remastered as he felt it was too loud. Consequently, a very small amount ended up in circulation. The early mother stampers of this record suggest that it was a 'day of release' purchase.
The labels feature the extremely rare Times New Roman (TNR) syntax font on the labels that was only available for a very short run of first pressing vinyl.
The vinyl is housed within the original front-side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve.
The album is complete with the original polythene lined EMItex die-cut inner sleeve.

Condition:
Vinyl: EXCELLENT -
Labels: EXCELLENT
The labels are bright and clean. Only one or two very light spindle marks can be seen on either side.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
The vinyl displays deep-gloss playing surfaces. A handful of light surface marks are visible in strong daylight - none which can be felt. A really strong example.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT -
The record is a great listen. As is so often the case with this pressing the audio is slightly 'loud'. Please note, this is not due to groove/play wear but is a symptom of the pressing process itself and is one of the reasons John wanted it remastering. As I have heard many copies of this record over the years I have graded this copy an EX- as it is an excellent example of this pressing. But, do not expect perfect audio.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The sleeves looks superb. The front retains the original lustre. The cover art is vibrant with bright colours. The rear is exceptionally clean. The flip-backs are all in-tact. All four corners show subtle softening. The opening edges, top and bottom edges, and square spine are all without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is very clean with no tears, writing or seam splits. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer. Non-EU international bidders please get in touch for an accurate postage cost if you do not want to ship with the GSP.
