FROM THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION:
THE BEATLES / "RUBBER SOUL"
- 1966 Australian 1st press Parlophone MONO LP
- Matrices: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1
- Uses Earliest UK -1/-1 stampers
- See this LP in HIGH-RESOLUTION photos
CONDITION
DISC: This Australian 1st pressing MONO LP -- that has the quickly replaced -1/-1 UK metal stampers -- is in EXCELLENT-/EXCELLENT- condition. Both sides show full gloss, with some hairlines and a few very light surface scratches. Side 1 has a small scratch across tracks 2-4. Both Parlophone labels show a few spindle trails.
The Beatles were selling in the millions during the mid-1960s, but Australia had only about 20% of the UK population then, and many fewer LPs were pressed there. To find an Australian 1st pressing Beatles LP in this condition is difficult.

COVER: The Australian EMI-made front-laminated cover is in EXCELLENT condition, with mild age-toning, an LP impression, and normal signs of storage. The cover's twin flipback construction make it an attractive alternative to its commonplace UK counterpart.

INNER SLEEVE: The polythene rounded sleeve (not sure if it's original) is in EXCELLENT condition, with normal signs of storage wear.

- I grade conservatively. MINT is a sealed LP; NEAR MINT is an open LP/cover
with virtually no signs of use/wear; EXCELLENT is a well-looked-after LP/cover
with light signs of use/wear; VERY GOOD+ is an LP/cover with average signs of
use/wear but is not trashed. - I use unforgiving sunlight and incandescent light to visually grade each LP.
- I don’t make unverifiable claims as to how many plays a non-sealed LP has had.
