Beatles - Rubber Soul - "Loud Cut" First UK pressing. Plays well.

Selling-up my extensive record collection. Lots of interesting records in the collection - do have a look at my other items, and there are new listings every week. I may have obscure things that you didn't even know you wanted!

Matrix numbers on this copy of Rubber Soul are 579-1 / 580-1, so it's a "loud-cut" copy. I can't see a tax code embossed, but there's a bit of embossed, like just a line or capital I - tax codes are sometimes faint or partial. Garrod and Lofthouse cover.

Pictures are my own photos of the items for sale. Photos are part of the description, have a good look.

Cover - front-laminated, with flip-backs. Good condition, not split torn or written-on. Front lamination is still good, with ring-wear just taking the shine off in a circle. Short cracks in from the edges, as we usually see. Light wear at opening and corners. Spine is very good. Back is nice, yellowish with grubbiness from handling, especially around the opening. There's a little loss at the top edge in the middle, as if it's just beginning to split - this is just less than an inch long. Has its original "use Emitex" inner sleeve.

Record - a quick visual inspection first, then a play-test.

Side one has a scratch across tracks 2 and 3, and a short scratch on track 5. There's a light-ish scratch on the last 2 tracks. There are various other light scratches, and a scuff across the whole side.  On side two, I see two scratches and an ugly fingernail-type mark on track one. There's a scratch on the first half of track 5. Various other light scratches.

As we often find that sixties records play very well despite various noticeable damage, I've done a play-test - good and loud on my proper hi-fi. Side one plays very well indeed, until it gets to the last track, "Michelle", which has a lot of crackling. On side two, the scratches I noticed on track one only produce a couple of noticeable crackles plus some background crackling. After that, there is background crackling in quiet parts - "Girl" and "In My Life" are both quiet but are not spoiled by being able to hear some crackles. After that point, record plays very well. General audio is excellent, a very good-sounding record - plenty of detail and everything sounds as it should - not worn-out. No sudden loud crackles, and no repetitive once-per-rotation clicks. Doesn't jump or stick, never sounds as if it wants to!

Postage at cost within UK - £3.00 plus 50p for a proper record mailer with two stiffener sheets of cardboard. Happy to do combined postage wherever practical. I'll charge you what it costs me - so anything up to six (or so) LPs would still be the same charge, £3.50.

Dispatch will usually be "next day".

I don't mail things personally, to countries outside the UK - ( I mean it, don't ask) - but I am happy to use E-Bay UK's Global Shipping Program, for sending things abroad. Under this scheme, I send the parcel to an e-bay depot in UK, and they forward it to the overseas buyer.

They have a tracked courier service, for the journey from their UK depot, to the buyer.

This means that I can ONLY accept payments through e-bay (Pay Now button), and I can't send invoices.

E-Bay UK tells me, they do NOT do combined postage in the Global Shipping Programme. Charges to the customer for delivery and customs charges are whatever you're told they are - if you don't want to pay the postal / courier charges individually for the items, then do not bid.

Overseas customers - please DON'T request an invoice - there is no combined postage, I can't make one, and it screws-up the e-bay system.

International buyers should be able to see a postage cost to their country, you may have to input your location, if your country is included in the scheme.

If your country is not mentioned, please do not bid.

Applicable customs charges will probably be shown to buyers in non-EU countries - E-Bay collects customs duty for the receiving country, wherever import duty is appropriate. If you don't want to pay the customs charges, do not bid.

I don't send to China (because I prefer not to), and I also don't send to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, as importation of vinyl records is not permitted in their customs regulations.
