'RUBBER SOUL'
1965 UK 1st **MONO** PRESSING LP
*XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1*
Often referred to as the 'loud cut' version, this early pressing does sound different to later '-4/-5' cuts, but just with more compression added.
This excellent 1965 first mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1267
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, 'tri-flipback' Garrod & Lofthouse cover.
Complete with its original lined 'Use Emitex inner-sleeve.

Visual: EXCELLENT
Very bright and clean surfaces which reveal one non-audible straight surface mark on side 1 and some sleeve removal hairlines, but no other marks.
Side 2 is totally unmarked apart from some very fine sleeve removal hairlines visible only under a halogen desk lamp.
Very thick, heavy vinyl which lies 100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
The disc has clearly been well cared for and little played all tracks play without any hint of crackle or groovewear distortion in any channel.
Even 'Michelle' plays brightly and cleanly with no audible wear.
Both run-ins are silent and all bands play extremely quietly with just a few low-level soft 'ticks' but no hiss, clicks, pops, jumps, repeats anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A clean and strong example bearing just a few light creases to the front laminate but no major wear.
The opening edge and corners are clean and sharp displaying just a touch of storage and handling wear.
The rear panel is in fine condition: clean and bright and with no age discolouration, marks or writing.
There is just a 1cm stress (not split) towards the upper seam but otherwise all are intact and unsplit.
The spine is clean and readable with no missing laminate or paper and all flipbacks are intact and undamaged.
