LOUD CUT

This Lp was released on the 3rd of December 1965 and stayed at the number 1 position for a total of 9 weeks from Christmas that year....What a pressie to unwrap!

Vinyl: VG+. Lovely shine and weight. There are a quite a few light marks as well as some needle marks. There appears to be some sort of white blemish to a couple of small areas on side 1. Saying that I have just played the Lp through and WITHOUT skipping or jumping at all. Only a moderate amount of background crackle, which I am sure will be severely reduced with a good clean as it sounds as if it's just the crackle of dust.

The LOUD CUT affect is clearly auidible and sounds really RAW.

Still lovely and flat.

Labels: VG+. There are plenty of spindle marks but only visible when angled to the light, but hardly any wear to the central hole. Raised "KT" tax code to side 2. No writing anywhere. "The Gramophone Co..." rim text as well as "Sold In U.K." text...very nice

Cover: VG. No writing anywhere. Good strong spine. There is some feathering to the opening (with two small 1.5cm tears) and wear to the corners. The back is quite discoloured and has taken on a brownish hue. Still has strong Garrod and Lofthouse flipbacks.

Inner: EX. ORIGINAL 'Use Emitex' inner. Only the one small tear of 1.5cm to the opening! Just discoulouration due to age.

All in all, this is a clearly well played Lp, but still retains it's charm and unusuality with the LOUD CUT format which was quickly withdrawn after only a few were pressed back in 1965...YEP 45 years ago!

A note on grading:

'Mint' means I have just stepped out of the record shop in the 60's, never opened nor played the record and kept it in fantasticaly dry and warm condtitons...unlikely isn't it!!
