Only VERY FEW were issued at the time to promote the album in advance of its general release and we are, therefore, delighted to offer a SUPERB NEAR MINT Example of one of the band’s most INFLUENTIAL and SOUGHT AFTER UK albums, ‘SGT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND’ in RARE **MONO** Format.

Album Description:

Released by EMI/Parlophone UK in 1967, this FIRST ISSUE MONO FACTORY SAMPLE VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, with ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both labels. There is an ORIGINAL EMI, White with Red Print Pointed End, Factory Sample sticker adhered to the Side 1 record label reading ‘FACTORY SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE’.

Side 1 matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: Matrix: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers are 2/RRL and Side 2: 2/PM.

The Vinyl Disc comes in an ORIGINAL First Issue Flame Pink and White inner bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain Patents Applied For’ to the bottom corner.

…..And comes with an UNUSED, ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out.

The album is protected in a VERY IMPRESSIVE, ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve printed ‘PMC 7027 Mono’ to the reverse.

Audio Quality:

Having carefully played the album, Both sides play BEAUTIFULLY throughout ALL the tracks - A POWERFUL mono sound with NO clicks, NO skips or background noise and NO distortion.

Album condition:

Both sides of the Record Labels are in SUPERB near mint condition, A lovely CLEAN, UNDAMAGED Set of Record labels, NO fading to the bold Yellow Print or the Silver Printed text, and nothing more just a few faint spider trails to either side.

Both sides of the BARELY PLAYED Factory Sample Vinyl Disc are near mint. The Vinyl GLEAMS like NEW - hard to fault it -. There are only a couple of very light, insignificant, wispy surface hairlines to both UNDAMAGED Vinyl Surfaces, but certainly NO scuffs or scratches.

The Original First Issue FULLY LAMINATED MONO Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve is a LOVELY example and in STRONG excellent plus condition. This is a FIRM, VERY GLOSSY sleeve, and NO fading to the Bold Vivid colours. There is NO record indentation to the front panel and only a tiny bruise to the top left corner - this is minimal. The other three corners and the opening edges are FLAT and there are NO seam splits. The inside of the Gatefold Sleeve is in SUPER near mint condition, with the two internal fold over flaps UNDAMAGED. The SPINE edge is FIRM, clearly reading 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. The reverse panel of the sleeve shows only the mildest impression where the record has been stored – visible only when tilting the sleeve around in the light.

The Original First Issue Sgt Pepper Cut-Out is COMPLETE and UNUSED and in near mint condition.

The Original First Issue ‘Made in Gt Britain Patents Applied For’ Flame Coloured Inner Bag is in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition – one of the most IMPRESSIVE ones that we have offered more recently – there are NO seam splits, tearing or handwriting and nothing more than a little light inevitable creasing.

FACTORY SAMPLES of one of THE BEATLES most ICONIC UK Albums RARELY come up on the open market - in fact we have only offered one other SGT PEPPER Official FACTORY SAMPLE in the past 10 years!
