READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles’ Second Album STEREO 1964 TRUE First Pressing A3/ A1 Plates, 2:23 Running Time

Having all the hallmarks of a true first pressing, this copy has very early plates as well as the incorrect running time of 2:23 for the track, “You Can’t Do That.”  Not NM, but still in very nice condition!

Vinyl--- VG/VG+.  Each side retains most of its original gloss and shine.  However, each side also has small scuffs that you can’t feel with the fingertip.  The first one in the first track, “Roll Over, Beethoven” does produce a tic on maybe three rotations.  The others don’t sound at all.

Plates--- A3/ A1.  The machine-stamped “IAM” in the triangle makes this a Scranton copy.

Cover--- Nice and strong VG.  That doesn’t mean thrashed, it means very good.  Top and bottom seams are perfectly intact.  The spine isn’t split, but the slick is on the bottom half, across the word, “STEREOPHONIC” and the catalogue number.  See photo.  The cover has overall yellowing and very minor dirtwear.  Still a very nice cover, just not NM.

Labels--- NM. Both labels are full gloss, 1964-brand new looking.  Side 2 label has a small bubble that popped in manufacturing, showing blue underneath.  Kinda cool.

As mentioned above, the first-run labels mistakenly printed the running time for the last song on Side 1, “You Can’t Do That” as being 2:23.  That error was caught very quickly and corrected to 2:33, making these labels extremely hard to track down.  Check for yourself.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Original 1964 blue Capitol inner sleeve is present, and in very nice condition.  There is a one-inch seam split at the bottom center.  Otherwise, the inner sleeve is really nice.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 3.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
