Description
Rare U.K. first pressing of the mono Sgt Pepper complete with ‘sold in the UK subject to…’ across the label.
Complete in every respect - see condition description for further specifics. Wonderful playback quality with very little evidence of noise, pops etc. This is a first rate example of an iconic record in its first incarnation. And it goes without saying that the mono edition offers playback variances when compared to the more well known stereo edition.
The stamper details are:
Side One: YEX 637-1 (6 o’clock), M RD (3 o’clock), 3 (9 o’clock) 7
Side Two: YEX 638-1 (6 o’clock), ^ (3 o’clock) L M
There’s an additional mark at 9 o’clock on side two that I can’t decipher - it looks like something (three characters?) was etched into the stamper and then overwritten. Will ship worldwide but please contact me for the rates appropriate to your country if you’re from outside the U.K. I have other listings and if you secure more than one record then I’ll combine the lots to give you the best postage rate.
