Beatles, Sgt Peppers, Orig UK Parlophone Mono G/fd LP+Inner, VG+/VG+ 1st Press.

Description

Original UK yellow & black Parlophone label mono 1st press.

This early mono 1st pressing has the cut out sheet, the plain inner and the 'Sold In U.K.....' label text, with the 'The Gramophone Co Ltd...' rim text and the 'KT' tax code stamp on the label and the XEX-637-1 XEX-638-1 matrices of the 1st presses (see the Beatles Collection website for more details!).
The Garrod & Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing and a couple of small creases on the front cover. The spine is intact, but worn and only partially readable. The plain company inner is in VG+ condition and the Sgt Pepper's cut out sheet is intact and in EX condition.   The record is in visually VG+ condition, with quite a few sleeve removal hairlines & some small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves and in a couple of the quieter passages. Overall, still a really great, loud and clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; XEX-637-1 stamper 1-GDD, XEX-638-1 stamper 4-HR. This is one of the later 1967 pressings of the original UK mono 1st issue of this album.
