Description
THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This EXCELLENT 1st UK MONO pressing dates from the album's initial release in June 1967 and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 2/GGA & 3/GDO
Vinyl weight: 133g
Housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with a 'regular' width spine.
In the lower right corner of the rear panel, some wording (presumably 'Patents Pending') has been rather clumsily deleted by the printers producing a lighter coloured area beneath the laminate, (see 7th image on the left).
This copy comes complete with its original red & white 'The Fool' designed inner-sleeve & unused cut-out sheet.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
A fine clean & unworn pair with just a handful of light spindle trail around both unworn centre holes. there is even a sliver of the silver centre hole marker visible around the edge of the side 1 hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Extremely clean & bright playing surfaces which are free from any surface marks or wear in strong daylight. Close and careful examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than some harmless wispy hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal. Both sides of this well looked after copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has clearly received only a minimal amount of play and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality overall. My single play-check at volume revealed no groove/playwear on any track, just some minor background on 'She's Leaving Home' and two clicks on the side 2 run-in but no further audible distraction or wear on this very respectable sounding copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
A clean & strong example which retains a clean & unworn glossy front panel laminate with just two small 'thumbnails' towards the front opening edge. There is some bruising to the corners and light opening edge wear but no tears or splits anywhere. The inside of the gatefold is unworn & as new with no missing paper to either of the inner flaps. The rear panel just as clean & glossy as the front with just some light corner wear but no 'thumbnails' or any other creasing. There is a little wear to the spine laminate but it is clearly & fully worded and all seams of both pockets are unstressed & unsplit.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT -
Clean, flat & uncreased but with the disc's catalogue number and another number written on one side but no tears or seam splits.
Cut-out sheet: NEAR MINT
