Description

THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

1967 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING* LP

I recently purchased this wonderful record a few months back from the wonderful sellers at Bright Field Music from Austria which the Beatles collector community knows are top-notch at quality all around.  Unfortunately I lost my job shortly after so my loss is your gain with a low reserve price of $400 which is a lot lower than what I paid for it which was for $615.00 ! I'm hoping it will go for something around that amount hence the Buy it Now.

Don't let this wonderful piece of history pass you by! A wonderful investment for yourself or family.

This beautiful & 100% complete UK 1st MONO pressing from 1967 is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 1 centre hole.

Housed in a correct fully laminated, inner-flipback mono gatefold cover with a regular width spine.

Complete with its red & white designer inner-sleeve & MINT/unused cut-out sheet.

Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1

Stamper codes: 1/RP & 3,5/MA

Disc weight: 152g

ANYBODY WHO HAS TRAWLED THE INTERNET AND BOUGHT WHAT THEY HAD THOUGHT LOOKED LIKE A FABULOUS COPY OF THIS LP ONLY TO BE DISAPPOINTED TIME AND TIME AGAIN UPON IT'S ARRIVAL WILL KNOW WHERE I AM COMING FROM....

FOR SOME REASON ( PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE GROUNDBREAKING LACK OF RACK BANDING ) THESE EARLY PEPPERS UPON CLOSE INSPECTION APPEAR DULLED WITH MANY SURFACE / BAG REMOVAL MARKS  MARKS. ALSO THE EARLIER FLIP-BACK SLEEVES ALSO SEEM TO SURVIVE BADLY, ESPECIALLY AT THE SPINE SO IT IS SUCH A JOY TO KNOW THAT WITH THIS COPY YOU ARE GUARANTEED NOT TO BE DISAPPOINTED ...

AND LIKE I SAY THIS IS EASILY ONE OF THE LOVELIEST FIRST ISSUE PEPPERS I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO HANDLE AND AS WELL AS BEING IN MONO WHICH IS FAR MORE DESIRABLE ( EVEN THOUGH STEREO Y/B PEPPERS ARE ACTUALLY PROBABLY RARER ) MAINLY BECAUSE THE BEATLES WERE INVOLVED DIRECTLY IN THE MONO MIX AND BECAUSE IT IS QUITE DIFFERENT TO THE STEREO MIX WHICH IS THE MIX MOST OF US ARE MOST FAMILIAR WITH.

YOU MAY NEVER SEE A COPY AS NICE AS THIS AGAIN SO GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS !!

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: MINT

A perfect pair with no spindle marks or wear around either centre hole.

VINYL VISUAL : THIS IS A SIMPLY STUNNING COPY THAT WILL NOT DISSAPOINT, IN NORMAL LIGHT IT LOOKS MINT BUT WHILST THERE ARE ONLY THE WISPY BAG REMOVAL MARKS IF HELD UNDER A HALOGEN LAMP I HAVE NO PROBLEM IN GRADING THIS COPY AS EXCELLENT EASY WHICH FOR ONE OF THESE IS MORE LIKE NEAR MINT!!

VINYL PLAY  I TOOK THE UNUSUAL STEP FOR ME OF PLAYING THIS DISC AND I AM PLEASED TO REPORT THAT ON MY SYSTEM IT PLAYED AS GOOD AS IT LOOKED, WITH HARDLY A POP OR A CRACKLE EVEN ON THE QUIET PARTS. I STRESS HOWEVER THAT THIS IS ON MY SYSTEM, OTHER SYSTEMS MAY REPRODUCE DIFFERENTLY BUT I DOUBT IT BUT PLEASE BEAR THIS IN MIND WHEN BIDDING...

Cover

EXCELLENT +

An extremely vibrant & well-preserved example of this iconic cover which retains a perfectly clean, undamaged & unscratched high-gloss front panel laminate with no 'thumbnails' or any other significant signs of wear. All of the corners are in great shape and free from any bumps or bruising. All opening edges are clean & sharp with just a few tiny 'pushes to the edge of the rear pocket. The inside of the gatefold is vivid & unfaded with no wear or missing paper to flipbacks edge and has but has clearly rarely, if ever been fully opened out (I didn't attempt it either). The rear panel is as vivid & vibrant as the front with just a faint disc impression from storage but again no 'thumbnail' wrinkle or any other wear. All seams of both pockets are unstressed & unsplit and the spine, although a little squashed, is fully laminated & worded.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT +

A bright & crisp example with nothing more a faint mark where from the edge of the disc but certainly no writing, seam splits or tears anywhere.
