THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

1969 UK 'ONE EMI BOX' *MONO* PRESSING

**ULTRA-RARE MONO/STEREO COVER**


Here is a rare 1969 UK MONO pressing on the UK 'One EMI Box' label: PMC 7027
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Gramophone Co Ltd...' rims
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.

The cover is a fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover with 'wide' (2cm) internal 'flipbacks'.
Both the mono AND stereo catalogue numbers are printed in the upper left corner of the rear panel.
Complete with original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve and cut-out sheet.

Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 6/MPR & -/MOA

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

  Some light spindle trails, but no other signs of wear.

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

Both sides are extremely clean & bright and, apart from a single 1mm mark on side 2, both are totally unmarked when viewed in strong daylight.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals only a bright 'rainbow' gloss and a few wispy paper hairlines, but no other marks or any scratches.

Audio: Side 1: VERY GOOD Side 2: EXCELLENT PLUS

 Side 1 plays with some light background throughout, however side 2 plays perfectly cleanly and clearly with no traces of audible wear whatsoever.
There are no clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major faults to either side.


 Cover: EXCELLENT

A vibrant, high-gloss, unscratched front laminate panel which displays just two small spine wrinkles but no ringwear, rubbing or even any 'thumbnail' creases.
There is a touch of shelfwear to the lower corners and a bump to the upper left, but both opening edges are sharp, clean & undamaged.
The rear panel is as clean and glossy as the front with just a few light spine wrinkles, but no other significant wear.
The inside of the gatefold features the 'oversize' inner-flipbacks and appears 'as new'. It has clearly has not been opened in many years.
Apart from a small stress repair to the upper seam of the back leaf, there is no further signs of wear.

The spine is clean & un-squashed and retains a 100% lamination with a full, clear & readable text.
