ITEM

The Beatles - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band LP(Parlophone PMC 7027), Original Yellow & Black Label, Without `Recording 1st Published` but with Parlophone Co. rim text but Without"Sold In The UK" . This copy of the LP has a PMC *M O N O*  label on both sides and it comes in an orig 1960`s sleeve showing MONO on the rear, But amazingly it PLAYS IN *S T E R E O* and has YEX matrix stampers indicating stereo and not mono, I have played it aswell and it definately plays in stereo. I am aware of a one box emi pressing of this LP from 1969 had the same error but i have never seen or even heard of a Yellow & Black labeled copy with the same error.

SLEEVE + INSERT CONDITION

 The  fully laminated gatefold sleeve, Made in Great Britian, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, *MONO* NO mention of stereo, Just has a PMC Catalogue number with "This is a MONO recording, A splendid time is guaranteed for all" credit to the bottom rear, Sleeve still looks pretty nice with hardly any wear to the edges, A little to the spine which clearly shows the text, It has a few laminate creases to the opening edge and a small tear which has been repaired from inside the sleeve on the front approx 3", Please see pics. It is free from Seam Splits, Writing, Stickers, Etc..  Strictly graded as VERY GOOD due to the tear, Otherwise at least EXCELLENT

The original THICK CARD cut-out Insert is in fantastic condition with NO DAMAGE or Writing,Tears, Etc.. Would Grade at NEAR MINT.

Comes in a PLAIN WHITE Inner Sleeve, I have placed it in a, Polylined EMI sleeve(As Pictured) for now to protect the other paper inner sleeve but will be sent with both.

RECORD CONDITION

The Thick Heavyweight vinyl plays great with a full powerful S T E R E O sound that according to the labels and the sleeve should be M O N O , It plays great with light surface noise on the run ins and in the quiter parts of the tracks, A real pleasure to listen to with great audio clarity, It has some light surface marks/hairlines that are apparent on the vinyl surface but these have little relevance to the audio quality due to the auality of the pressing which out of interest weighs in at 165 grammes, An original Yellow & Black label Pressing with MISPRESSED *S T E R E O* MIX, with a Super Rare label or Pressing variation which ever you choose, These are only going to get harder to find in the future, As if there not hard enough to find now, A great investment, So overall a reasonablly nice copy of this LP, Strictly Graded visually at VERY GOOD to VERY GOOD+, But the play grade must be closer to EXCELLENT.

CONDITION OF LABEL`S

Both of the Yellow & Black Parlophone Labels have NO Tax code, They do have the Parlophone Co. Ltd rim text and  p1967 but omit the "Sold In The UK" text, Visually the labels look pretty good and are free from Writing, Stickers, Tears Etc..but there is a very small bubble on the top of the side 1 label which looks like it has had a sticker at some time in its life, Other than that hardly any wear apart from a little bit on the centre hole on side 2 and a few spindle marks, So conservatively graded as EXCELLENT-

Overall a great copy of this VERY RARE VARIATION "Sgt Pepper" LP

MY RECORD GRADING SYSTEM IS AS FOLLOWS - (BASED ON RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE U.K. )

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.

FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
