Beatles - "Songs, Pictures And Stories Of The Fabulous Beatles" - USA LP
Vee Jay - VJLP 1092 - 1963
Most Beatles collectors will know about Vee Jay Records and how they had the rights to a handful of The Beatles' early tracks and milked them by releasing many albums of those same tracks in different guises.
This LP contains 12 tracks from the UK's "Please Please Me" LP, ("Love Me Do" and "PS I Love You" are the missing tracks).
These LPs have been counterfeited over the years and I think this is a counterfeit, even though I was assured it was genuine when I bought it many years ago.
The sleeve is in very good condition. There are a lot of scuffs on the front & back and some wear at the top and bottom of the spine. It is a gatefold sleeve, with the front part ony 8 inches wide instead of 12. There are no tears or creases and I think the sleeve may be genuine.
The record itself is most probably counterfeit. It is in mint condition whereas the sleeve is old. The labels do not have the rainbow colours around the circumference that they should have.
I have never played this LP since I bought it.
Were it original, this LP would be worth a lot of money. As it is not original, the asking price reflects this.
