1964 SOUTH AFRICAN 1st PRESSING LP
This rare LP comes from an outstanding collection of original worldwide rarities which I have the pleasure to list this week. Please take a look at my shop to see more discs from this collection.
This unique South African mono compilation dates from 1964 and is on the 'old-style' black & silver Parlophone label: PMCJ 64
The disc is housed within a front laminated, bi flipback cover, printed by 'Swan Press'.

A super unblemished & glossy pair with a little wear to the centre holes but no missing text or any other wear.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Immaculate clean & glossy surfaces which display no significant marks or wear in strong daylight. Even close inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp failed to find anything more than a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines. Tough to find a better looking copy.
Play: EXCELLENT
Certainly one of the better sounding non-UK pressed discs, this copy has received just some careful, infrequent play and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout. My careful play check at volume detected a few light ticks at the end of track 1, side 1 and a little background on 'This Boy'. Apart from that however, there is little to fault.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A bright & strong example with a clean & high-gloss front laminate bearing just some minor wrinkles to the edges but no heavy creases or wear. There is some shelfwear rubbing to the lower left corner and a touch of wear to the laminate on the lower right corner but no damage or wear to either opening edge. The rear panel is clean overall with just a few faint stains but no writing or missing paper. Both flipbacks are fully intact and both seams and the fully worded spine are smooth, unsplit & unstressed.
