It was bought back in around 82, I got this Mobile Fidelity (they tried to get the best audiophile sound on vinyl before there were CD's) Beatles' box set, which is one (actually officially numbered 16153 -- on the Certificate of Authenticy) of the only 25000 made, and sold out. One was supposed to play the records to remove the 'dust' from this first pressing of each of the 14 disks containing of all of the Beatles' material at that time. It says on the box, 'Original Master Recordings.'
I might have played one or two, and then put them back in their box, so they're pretty virgin still, and they've been with me since. There is no other way to say it but the contents that include the 'art' book (displaying full size all the album covers) are in mint condition. I would put the box in near mint, and that's because the black has faded a wee bit. I think it would be neat if someone would like a bargain getting this set. I'm a baby boomer, and on a fixed income, can't hold on to every valuable thing I have.
According to Goldmine's online site, one of these sold for 4000 dollars, it was sealed, but then they didn't know the number out of 25000.
