Description

Hello and welcome to my auction. Before giving you a description of this auction please read the following information carefully.

Payment:  To keep my auctions as simple as possible, I’ve decided to only accept payment via Paypal. Payment is due within three days of close of auction. (If you don’t have a Paypal account but would like to pay with a US Postal money order, contact me and maybe I can make an exception.)

Shipping:  I only ship to your Paypal confirmed address, given to me with your payment.  I gladly ship to US Military APO addresses. Stated shipping rates are for the lower 48 states only. Please contact me for shipping rates to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam and APO/FPO addresses and all international addresses.

Because I’ve lost so much money with Ebay’s very inaccurate shipping calculators, I no longer use them in my auctions. Instead, I will email you the shipping options and rates based on your zip code, once the auction ends. (Most of my auctions specify a flat rate shipping fee.)  I do my best to get your items in the mail within one or two days of the end of auction, unless it’s a weekend or holiday.

I do not make any profit on shipping and handling! I only charge actual shipping, plus the cost of any new boxes and packaging materials I may use. When possible, I try to ship in used boxes to save my customers money. I will always refund any overcharge in shipping fees via Paypal. (I frequently buy on Ebay and I hate to be ripped off by excessive shipping and handling charges!)

Combined shipping: If you purchase more than one item from me, and I’m able to safely ship them together in one box, I will be happy to save you money and send you a partial refund on shipping charges.

Insurance:  Mandatory for all items costing $100 or more.  This is to protect both of us from loss.  Below this amount, insurance is optional.

My Guarantee:  Unlike other sellers here on Ebay, I stand behind all my auctions and I offer all buyers a “No Hassle- Satisfaction Guarantee”.  If for any reason you are not happy when your item arrives, you may return it within 7 days of receipt for a cheerful refund, less all shipping charges. (New, sealed items must be returned in the same condition to receive a refund.)

Also, if you can show me that I have somehow misrepresented my auction, or that my auction description was in any way inaccurate or misleading, I will refund all your money, including ALL shipping charges!

I have over 1180 successful transactions on Ebay and my feedback rating stands at 100%. Rest assured that I am an honest and ethical seller.

Feedback:  Once I receive positive feedback indicating that our transaction was successful, I will be happy to leave positive feedback in return.  Please contact me with any problems you may have before leaving me neutral or negative feedback.  You’ll find that I’m a very friendly seller and easy to deal with.  I will bend over backwards to solve any problems regarding our auction.

Having said this, if you decide to leave me “negative feedback”, my “No Hassle- Satisfaction Guarantee” is null and void.  I will not refund your money, or accept any returns.  Your decision to leave me “negative feedback” ends our transaction, and I will not be open to any further discussion. This includes mediation using Ebay’s Square Trade program.

One final note, I reserve the right to cancel any and all bids from Ebay members who have chosen to keep their feedback comments “private” and hidden. I also reserve the right to cancel bids from buyers with an overall positive feedback rating 98.9% or less. If you fall into these two categories please contact me BEFORE placing your bid. Maybe I can make an exception.

By bidding on my auction you agree to all the above terms.  Thanks!

Up for bid is a very clean copy of the Beatles UK Fan Club Christmas LP from 1970.

The UK version of this LP was pressed in far smaller quantities than it’s US counterpart making it quite rare.

I purchased this particular LP about five years ago after searching on Ebay for almost a year. I try to purchase only sealed or near mint LPs for my collection, but I was unable to find a copy of this record in that condition.

This particular LP has been counterfeited a few times, so beware of that when you are searching here on Ebay. The fakes are all pretty obvious- one has a photo of a dog on the record label and another has a completely white label with no writing.

All authentic copies have green apple record labels and the record jacket is only laminated on the front side.

Condition:

The vinyl and labels are in beautiful near mint condition, with lots of gloss and no marks whatsoever. It looks unplayed.

The record jacket is very clean too, but shows some minor marks, creasing and record impression. There are no seam splits, writing etc. The cover easily grades between a VG+ and VG++. Good luck in finding a NM copy!

The original paper inner sleeve is also included, as well as a new paper/poly inner sleeve which offers much more protection for the vinyl. I will ship both the jacket and record in a high quality mylar sleeve.

My opening bid is $149.00, which is only a fraction of what I paid for it five years ago. Flat rate shipping for this record will be $7.50 for USPS Priority mail with insurance. (lower 48 states only) For all other locations, shipping will be $30.00 and I will refund any overcharge if needed. Remember I make no profit on shipping and I never add a bogus handling charge!

If you have any questions or would like additional photos, feel free to contact me via email.

Good luck and Happy Bidding!

Mike

PS: I’m also selling two more rare Beatles items: A near mint copy of My Bonnie (1962 UK Polydor 45rpm), and a obscure Beatles cassette “Only the Beatles” from a quickly discontinued 1987 Heineken beer advertisement/EMI promotion.

Hello,

I took a closer look at the cover this evening and I just wanted all potential buyers to know a bit more about the condition of the LP jacket. As I said in my description, there is no seam wear or splits on the cover and I see no sticker residue, stains, tears or writing. The front glossy (lamintated) side does show quite a bit of creasing, and both sides show ring impression, but nothing I would call ring wear. The front side also shows many tiny dents to the lamination that are visible under a strong light source. Lastly, there is yellowing along the edges. The jacket still grades better than a VG+ (Goldmine Record Grading) in my opinion, but I wanted to make clear that this cover is not close to being a near mint copy. I don't want anyone to be disappointed after the sale. Hope this helps...

Mike

I've decided to side with caution with this auction and conservatively grade the LP cover a VG+ - nothing more, nothing less.

On Sep-01-08 at 09:13:46 PDT, seller added the following information:

I took two better photos of both sides of the sleeve. It's really is a very, very nice and clean copy that will satisfy all but the fussiest of vinyl collectors. The back side of the jacket does show a bit of ring wear afterall, but the front only shows ring impression. These fan club LP sleeves were made from very thin, flimsy cardboard and were easily creased and damaged. These Chrstimas records were mailed to fan club members in the UK and were never sold in stores. Unlike US LP's, these records were never sealed in plastic shrink wrap. All these factors makes finding a pristine, near mint condition copy all but impossible.
